Ed Jefferies - Ny sportschef og træner i Trekanten

I december havde vi den britiske træner Ed Jefferies på besøg. Dette blev starten på en forhandling om ansættelse, da Ed kan bestride alle tre poster. Vi fik vældig positiv respons fra alle sider på Ed’s træning og person, og d. 26. januar nåede vi til enighed om ansættelsen. Derfor glæder vi os nu til d. 15. marts, hvor Ed starter som sportschef, kårdetræner og assisterende fleurettræner for talent/elitegruppen. Da vi samtidig fortsætter med alle de ’gamle’ trænere i klubben, har vi en trænergruppe, som vi kan være meget stolte af.

Hi everyone!

Firstly, I want to say how excited I am to be joining Trekanten as Sports Chef and Foil & Epee coach next month! Most of you already met me during my brief visit over Christmas, but this is a good opportunity to explain a little more about myself.

Back in 2007, I had the opportunity to move to London, from Scotland and be a funded, full time fencer. During this period I had some successes along the way, notably a silver medal at the U20 World Championships and well as a Senior World Cup L8 finish. In 2012, I made the tough decision to retire from competitive fencing and focus on my Politics degree as well as coaching, which I had started to do in January 2009.

After completing my degree in 2014 and working at various clubs and schools in London, I made the decision to embark on a new adventure to Shanghai, where I took a full time coaching job and where I remain until today. My students have won numerous medals in the national circuit and in USA tournaments. I have also taken students to be ranked number 1 in China.

That's enough about me, I look forward to getting to know you all well!
